Beauty of Returns

This is my first post after a month-long hiatus.  I was blessed to work on a book project with a few other inspiring authors.  When I set out to write for the book, I found that I only had a certain amount of creative energy in a given day.  If I wrote my daily inspiration (my baby), my creative energy was running at a deficit and I didn't feel like there was enough umpf left in me for working on my book project - I had to make a decision.

With mixed feelings, I committed myself to writing ONLY for the book project.  I was excited to work on my first major project but to do so meant no blogging, no twitter updates and no hanging out on facebook.  I felt like I had abandoned a part of myself, like I was quitting at something essential to my being. It was a difficult decision for me.  I left a post on facebook explaining my absence and got to work on my chapter still feeling a bit of me was missing.  I promised myself I could get back to blogging and facebooking as soon as I met my obligations - it was a sure bet!

During the entire month, I looked at my blog and felt tempted to post an update.  On some days, I even felt guilty because it's supposed to be DAILY inspiration.  With support and prayers from friends (and my new project), I was able to hold on.  A month later, I completed the first draft of "Calamity Builds Character", a peek into the emotions of a young girl's life as her father goes to jail and events that led her to become a teen mom.  I'm adding the finishing touches and working diligently with the project coordinator to ensure we hit our planned publication date.

As of today, I'M BACK!!!!

Today's Inspiration
Energy flows where attention goes... Decide to make it happen!

We all have decisions and sacrifices to make; obstacles between our today and tomorrow.  If we really want the future we see when we close our eyes and look into our hearts, we must be willing to delay, deny and align until we get there.

There is no short cut to success, no risk-free path.  The possibility of failure is real but abundant is the blessing of accomplishment that always feels so good in the end.

Be encouraged to go for it! You will arrive if you take it one day, one inspiration at a time.
