A New Approach to your New Year’s Resolution

How does the New Year spark a fire in us that didn't exist before? What about January 1, XXXX incites us to boldly declare that we will take action to address a thing that we may have neglected for the prior 365 days of our lives (or longer)? The New Year seems to be a perfect time for examination of beliefs, motives or actions. It's when we look back over the last few months of our lives or, in some instances; take a long hard look at a particular experience (good or bad) that we feel deserves special attention.  We set goals for personal transformation and resolve to improve our lives in some way. Though not all decisions to improve are centered around a particular date, deciding to better ourselves for the new year or at any point in life is good - especially if it sparks internal growth.
